Social Etiquette and Personal Security

Boost Education is pleased to host a special workshop on two critically important aspects of life in America as a foreign student. Mastering proper social etiquette will help you adapt quickly to a foreign culture and society. And being aware of personal safety issues in an unfamiliar living environment will put your mind to ease so that you can concentrate on your studies.

The Event:

Language: Chinese

Time: Saturday, May 18th from 1:30pm to 5:30pm.

Location: 25F-K, City-tower, No.86 Section One, Ren Min South Road

         (成都市人民南路一段86号“城市之心”25K)

Sign-up: Please sign up before May 8th

Fees: None

 

Please Note:

-  This training is for BOOST students only ! 

-  Priority will be given to Boost Study Abroad Program students who will   

   depart for the U.S. In the summer.

-  Each Study Abroad Program student may bring one parent or a guest.

-  To keep the quality of the training it will be limited to a total of 20 attendees.

SpeakerWilliam (Bill) Chiang

Bill Chiang is a former international banking and investment executive in the U.S. He was born in China and has lived and worked in Australia, North America and Southeast Asia.

During his more than 30 years of professional career, Bill worked with several leading American and British banks in the key areas of commercial banking, investment banking, and wealth management. In addition to general management responsibilities, he was also involved with product development, training, marketing and sales.

 

Bill received his M.A. degree in Business Economics from University of Southern California and also studied at the University of San Francisco School of Law. He also received professional designations such as the New York Stock Exchange Registered Representative, the NASD Series 7 and the California Insurance Licenses.

 

A life-long Rotarian, he is currently an Honorary member of the Rotary Club of Shanghai. Through the Rotary International network, Bill has had many years of experience in large-scale volunteer service projects in China, such as cleft lip and palate surgery for poor children, and earthquake relief.

 

Bill is a co-founder of the Chengdu WExpress Toastmaster Club. He frequently mentors young people in cross-cultural differences, communication, leadership and career planning.

 

Bill is fluent in three Chinese dialects - Mandarin, Cantonese and Shanghai.  Because of his unique background, Bill is a true bilingual and bi-cultural Pacific Rim citizen.
